My favourite artist
My favourite artist is Silvio Rodriguez, he was born in 1946 in Cuba. He is a singer-songwriter, guitarist and poet, an exponent of the music of his country that emerged with the Cuban Revolution, known as the Nueva Trova.
Silvio Rodríguez, musical and politically, is a symbol of the Latin American left. His songs combine romanticism, existentialism, revolutionary politics and idealism.
About his musical career, Rodriguez debuts in June 1967 on the television program «Music and stars».
In February of 1972 he throw his first concert abroad, in the III Festival of Political Song, and in 1975 he released his first album titled ''Dias y Flores'', the first of more than 20 albums.
I listened and I met this artist when I was 12 years old, and I really liked him two years later.
I really like the rhythm of their songs, but what I love are their lyrics, I think these has a lot of content, since they not only talk about recurring themes such as love, but also have a critical look on certain subjects.
One of my favorite songs is ''La familia, la propiedad privada y el amor'', because I think it has an important analysis regarding the stereotypes of society.
